As compared to Fall 2017, the Information Technology University (ITU) of the Punjab has so far received all-time record 22,360 admission applications for Fall 2018, resulting in an approximate 40% increase in number of applications. This hike is indicative of the growing interest among the youth towards Information Technology, and in ITU due to its world-class faculty, innovative teaching methods and state of the art labs. The last date to apply online is June 29, 2018.
The received admissions applications for Fall 2018 of ITU Punjab enumerate as follows, for BS Computer Science 8170, BS Electrical Engineering 3387, BSEDS 1204, BS Management and Technology 2292, MS Computer Science 2666, MS Data Science 2154, MS Electrical Engineering 1014, MS Development Studies 565, PhD Computer Science 506 and PhD Electrical Engineering 402 applications, and anticipating more numbers with June 29, 2018 being the last date.
Necessary analysis and verification process of the documents provided with the applications is simultaneously being carried out.
The founding Vice-Chancellor of ITU, Dr Umar Saif, termed the overwhelming response witnessed during the admission process of fall 2018 a result of the untiring efforts of the ITU's faculty and staff, and confirmed the confidence in ITU's innovative future programmes including research, ecosystem and startups activity. He said that an accreditation authority, National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) established by Higher Education Commission, which looks after the accreditation of institutions and their departments, faculties and disciplines by giving them appropriate ratings and define the organization's objectives, functions and duties, has rated CS Department at Information Technology University (ITU) of the Punjab Lahore as "W", which is the highest rating, which was an acknowledgement towards the performance of the ITU.
