Abdul Rahim Janoo President International Memon Organization (IMO) has said that next Annual General Body Meeting of IMO is scheduled to be held in March 2019 in Sri Lanka.
While addressing an Eid Milan Reception at AKD house on Monday night, he said that presently, IMO membership has been reached some 0.4 million members. He said that IMO is not a charitable organization and will not collect Zakat, nor distribute it, as many other organizations such as All Pakistan Memon Federation; World Memon Organization etc are already doing this very well. However, IMO will make a fund on Self made basis which will be spent on various projects, he mentioned.
IMO Ladies wing is also working to provide assistance for the wedding of unmarried Memon educated girls and will find out the suitable educated match for them and if required provided financial assistance in the matter. Janoo said that IMO has also established an Employment Bureau under the leadership of Anis Majeed and Arsalan Nara, who have organized an Employment Seminar and many educated Memon boys, got good jobs. He said that many Memon Industries and Trading Houses have offered IMO about vacancies in their companies and IMO is working to find out the suitable people and give them necessary training to fill these jobs.
Additionally, IMO has also working to increase Memon to Memon interaction and in this regard, IMO has plans to support Small and Medium level Memon companies and will provide them necessary technical support to flourish their business. "IMO Pakistan Chapter is working to print Memon History and Memon Census and we have a plan to publish the addresses of Memon trading companies' worldwide", he added.
Another good project of IMO is to distribute Meat among needy and deprived humanity whether they are belong to Memon community or not. In initial phase on this Eid-ul- Azha 20 cows will be sacrificed and meat packet will be made and distributed to the poor people of local towns.
During the reception, Janoo demanded that Aqeel Karim Dhedhi should be declared as leader of Memon community. "Dhedhi and Siraj Kassam Teli are the only personalities who always tell truth to Pakistani people. They can talk to government eye to eye", he added. Further, he said that IMO has planned t o adopt 4 schools from Sindh government. These schools will be sponsored by Aqeel Dhedhi, Haji Razzak Janoo Memorial Trust, Asif Majeed and Abdul Rauf Shivani. Mrs. Mehwish Fayyaz will monitor the progress of this project, who is the Gold Medalist MBA from renowned institute IBA.
