Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday revealed that the PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was Nawaz Sharif's friend and he (Nisar) used to constantly complain about him to Nawaz. "Nisar was Mian Sahab's friend and my foe," the PML-N president said in a light mode while speaking to media. "I am talking about 1988," he clarified. Shahbaz said, "If I have ever been scolded by Mian Sahib, it is because of Nisar." He said, "Our relationship was bitter for some time and then eventually we became friends."
Shahbaz who is now close friend of Nisar said that Nisar is 'immature', who needs to be dealt with like a child and we keep trying to pacify him and resolve any issues." Replying to the questions of the media, Shahbaz said that nominated caretaker Prime Minister and Chief Minister enjoy good repute with regard to honesty and impartiality. He hoped that the upcoming elections will be held according to the public aspirations and in a transparent manner.
Nisar, who has been associated with the PML-N for over three decades has publicly spoken about his differences with the party following Nawaz's ouster last July and subsequent public mobilization campaign. In February, it was reported that Nawaz had parted ways with his longtime associate Nisar. Shahbaz is in touch with Nisar asking him to "stay with the party".
Meanwhile, Shahbaz inaugurated CT scan machine and mobile diagnostic unit at DHQ Hospital, Rajanpur on Wednesday. Talking on the occasion, he said that CT scan machines are being installed in different districts of the province with an amount of one billion and 20 crore rupees. The CT scan tests will be conducted free of cost in DHQ hospitals and the fee will be paid by the Punjab government. Shahbaz also inaugurated the revamping projects of the hospital which have been completed with a cost of Rs 240.6 million. He inspected different sections including OPD, gyne-ward, cold storage facility and burn and dental health units.
