Revenue collection helps in initiating new uplift projects: Dr Ayesha
Finance Minister Punjab Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that the revenue collection by the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has helped the provincial government in planning and initiating new development projects. She was speaking at a farewell iftar dinner hosted by Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority Dr Raheel Ahmed at the PRA Headquarters.
She stressed the need to introduce the culture of self-reliance and encouraged the PRA officials to work with the same dedication for the betterment of the department, province and the nation. She said the PRA has already collected Rs 100 billion from its total target of Rs 115 billion before the close of this month while in 2013-14 the total tax collected stood at Rs 43 billion. She congratulated the PRA officials and chairman in the achievement. She said measures are also being taken to introduce an online electronic payment system where all provincial taxes can be made via one single portal to facilitate the tax payers.
The minister appreciated the efforts of the department in working to the best of their abilities and showing professionalism in achieving their targets and generating app-laudable tax revenues.
She also applauded the PRA's achievements and valued the determinations of its officials in making it the success story of the Punjab government. She lauded the PRA officials for all support they have been providing to the Finance Department and the Punjab government.
