The Karachi Port handled 175,471 tonnes of cargo comprising 113,049 tonnes of import cargo and 62,422 tonnes of export cargo including 7,788 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 113,049 tonnes comprised of 47,755 tonnes of containerised cargo; 911 tonnes of bulk cargo; 17,932 tonnes of coal; 5,320 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 41,131 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 62,422 tonnes comprised of 32,925 tonnes of containerised cargo; 251 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,465 tonnes of cement, 17,165 tonnes of wheat; 2,916 tonnes of wheat (Gandum) and 7,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,788 containers comprising of 3,123 containers import and 4,665 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,190 of 20's and 957 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 09 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 724 of 20's and 439 of 40's loaded containers while 757 of 20's and 1,153 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely OOCL California, Hansa Offenburg, MT Lahore, Bristol Trader, Nord Kitan, Industrial Royal and Mu Mian Song carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. CMA CGM Estelle, MSC Jasmine, Hansa Offenburg, Chemroad Lily, Arendal, Brazen, Stove Friend and Maho Coral carrying containers, oil tankers, wheat, clinker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 105,609 tonnes comprising 72,197 tonnes of import cargo and 33,412 tonnes of export cargo including 2,383 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 72,197 tonnes includes 10,254 tonnes of furnace oil; 6,700 tonnes of palm oil; 7,800 tonnes of LNG; 1,157 tonnes of LPG; 20,122 tonnes of coal; 5,334 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 329 tonnes of chemical and 20,501 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,412 tonnes includes 8,636 tonnes of cement and 24,776 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,383 containers comprising of 1,079 containers import and 1,304 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely CV MSC Samantha and MV Crimson Empress carrying containers and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV Express Athens and MV African Puffin carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Samantha, CV Express Athens, MV Trans Ocean, MV African Puffin, MV Islander, MV Crimson Empress, MV Taj Honesty, MT UMM Alamad, MT White Purl, MT Pacific Lagoon and MT UACC Muharraq were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, soyabean seeds, coal, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV CMA CGM Blue Whale, MV Da Chang, MV Industrial Dolphin, MV MG Hammont, MV White Hawk, MV Zhen Bang, MV Santa Rita, MV Thor Insuvi, MV YM Jupiter, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Jo Pinari and MT Constantinos carrying containers, project cargo, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, chemical, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Blue Whale, CV CMA CGM Estelle, CV Virgo, MV Zhen Bang and MV Santa Rita carrying containers, canola seeds and coal expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Friday.
There were seven ships namely CV CMA CGM Estelle, CV Virgo, CV Maersk Atlanta, CV GH Chinook, MV Da Chang, MT UMM Alamad and MT Silver Emily carrying containers, general cargo, LNG and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
There are three ships namely CV Safmarine Ngmai, CV Iblad and CV Areti carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while two ships namely CV Prosper and MV Ikan Salmon carrying containers and coal respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
