The government has earmarked Rs 986 million for Prime Minister's Office in the budget for 2018-19 to defray the salaries and other expenses against Rs 916 million earmarked for the current fiscal year, showing an increase of around 7 percent. According to the budget document titled "Demands for Grants and Appropriation" the government had earmarked Rs 916.722 million for the current fiscal year which was later revised to Rs 968.195 million.
Rupees 363 million has been budgeted for allowances for fiscal year 2018-19 against Rs 344.9 million in the ongoing fiscal year which was later revised to Rs 359 million; Rs 323.93 million has been earmarked for regular allowances for 2018-19 against Rs 310.53 million for 2017-18 and Rs 168.97 million for pay of other staff against Rs 141.43 million earmarked for the current fiscal year.
The government has earmarked Rs 129.469 million in the budget for 2018-19 for operating expenses against Rs 125.749 million for the current fiscal year which was later revised to Rs 127.485 million. Further Rs 41 million has been earmarked for transfers for 2018-19 against Rs 42 million for 2017-18. Further Rs 73.8 million has been earmarked for grants, subsidies and write off loans against Rs 96.3 million earmarked for 2017-18 which was later revised to Rs 112 million.
