The Sindh Assembly on Monday introduced two bills as the opposition continued its noisy protest during the sitting that brought the house into disorder. The disorder forced Deputy Speaker, Shehla Raza to postpone the proceedings for about 10 minutes, after an adjournment motion that PML-F's woman legislator, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi was turned down by the house with a majority vote. Rejection of the motion triggered a protest by the entire opposition turning the house into tumulus.
The house latter resumed its proceedings with introducing The Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women (Amendment) Bill 2018 and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Human Resource Research and Development Board (Amendment) 2018. Sindh Senior Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Nisar Khuhro tabled the bills, which the house will consider afterwards.
Earlier, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi in her adjournment motion stated that the government appointed inspectors in the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department against the merit. However, Nisar Khuhro opposed the move saying that the mover failed to substantiate her motion as the treasury voted it out. The opposition did not accept the house voting and created a disorder.
During question and answer session, Sindh Sports Minister, Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar told the house that there is a probe underway to ascertain that what reasons were behind the poorly managed provincial games. He said that the department made two appointments in current fiscal year on a death quota. However, he said, the department made no other appointments.
The young minister failed to reply to a question posed by PTI's Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Khurrum Sher Zaman Khan that how many sports complex the department has established in the last 10 years. But, he asked the PTI leader that he is ready to take him along on a visit to whatever complexes have been founded to show him.
Earlier, MQM's Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hasan opposition leader in the house told reporters outside the assembly hall that the there is a hope about the power crisis will end. However, he sought a permanent solution to the electricity shortage that created a huge problem for the public in Karachi. He rejected the K-Electric arguments that the load shedding is done on the basis of power theft. The house will meet on Tuesday morning to hold private members session.
