Ramazan Package: Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal asked to ensure distribution to needy
National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has directed Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to take stringent measures to ensure distribution of Ramazan Package to the needy in the coming month of Ramazan. The meeting of the committee was held here in the Parliament House with MNA Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan in the chair on Monday.
The committee was apprised that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal distributed 50,000 packets under Ramazan Package containing food items to the destitute throughout the country and the number would be enhanced in the coming Ramazan. The committee discussed and unanimously approved 'The Services Tribunal (Amendment) Bill, 2017,' whereas deferred discussion on 'The Capital Development Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2018' till its next meeting.
The committee disposed of 'Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (Amendment) Bill, 2017,' moved by MNA Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, terming it a non-feasible legislative proposal, whereas directed Establishment Division and Federal Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance Organization to conduct a study to evaluate financial impacts in case the committee recommends the legislative proposal of MNA Dr Nikhat Shakeel Khan to amend 'The FEBF & GI (Amendment) Bill.' The committee directed the Cabinet Division to carry out comparative study on 'The Pakistan Rights of Persons with Disability Bill, 2017,' moved by MNA Shaista Pervez and the legislative proposal prepared by the government and present the same before the committee in its next meeting.
The committee directed the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) to conduct an inquiry into the issue of harassment of Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA) staff by chairman and member academics and present its report before the committee in its next meeting.
