Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) have appointed Rasheed Janmohammed as Chairman, Pakistan Shippers' Council of FPCCI for the year 2018. Rasheed Janmohammed was heading Pakistan Shippers' Council (PSC) in the past also and was instrumental in the formation of National Trade & Transport Facilitation Committee (NTTFC) in late 1990's. NTTFC was ultimately instrumental in framing Goods Declaration (GD) which not only facilitate the marine trade but also simplified the procedure.
Rasheed Janmohammed during his past tenure as Chairman, PSC have always endeavoured to have close coordination between shippers, shipping lines, ship agents and the freight forwarders to have some discipline in the shipping charges not only to facilitate the trade but also to reduce cost of doing business in Pakistan.
Rasheed Janmohammed who is also the Immediate Past President of Bin Qasim Association of Trade & Industry (BQATI) always advocate to expand the current port facilities as the import and export volume is enormously growing and the ports do not have enough logistics to handle ever increasing volume.-PR
