Kasur tragedy worst example of human degradation: JI

While condemning the brutal murder of an abducted minor in Kasur after rape, Jamaat-e-Islami has asked the government to take all-out steps in bringing the culprits to justice. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Deputy Secretary General JI and MNA Ayesha Syed termed the Kasur incident the worst example of human degradation.
She said that such shameful incidents have been taking place in and around Kasur since long but the rulers seem to be turning a blind eye. The government, she said, is not acting responsibly in protecting life, honour and property of masses as its only concern is to remain in power with fair and foul means.
The JI leader said that the persons involved in the rape and murder of the minor girl are beasts and not human beings, adding that they must be rounded up and given exemplary punishments. The rulers only maintain security for themselves where as considering the masses as their slaves, she said, adding that the basic responsibility of the govt is to protect the life and property of the public instead of enjoying protocols. The behaviour of Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif is not of the one of the servants of people, but of a Pharaoh.
Ayesha Syed said that the Kasur tragedy has shaken up the whole nation, everybody considers Zainab as his/her own daughter. At this moment of sadness, the party is with the parents of Zainab. A girl had been missing for 4 days because of the negligence of police and collective failure of law enforcement agencies, the culprit killed her mercilessly after raping her.
It is the government's responsibility to protect the life, wealth and honor of people. Women are considered insecure after this tragic incident. The rulers are not given mandate for their carelessness regarding children. She said if all four chief ministers and the PM together can not protect the children of the nation then they should resign forthwith. "The incident shows that our society is going back to ignorance. From the day dictator Musharraf handed over Dr Aafia to the United States, Pakistan has not been able to heave a sigh of relief," she added.
