This is apropos a Business Recorder editorial "Revival of MMA" carried by the newspaper yesterday. It argued, among other things, "the coming together of these natural allies under the banner of MMA may help them to improve on that performance by preventing splitting of the religious vote, but it is unlikely to have any significant impact on the overall results."

The editorial seems to have ignored the fact that it remained confrontational and opposed General Musharraf for his partnership with the US. Moreover, MMA fared extremely well in the 2002 general elections. An upcoming alliance of religious parties will surely allow it an opportunity to benefit from the "moral bankruptcy" of both PPP and PML-N.
