The Businessman and Profession Forum (BPF) on Friday urged the federal government to accept the demands of protestors of Islamabad and dismiss the federal law minister and others for removal of Khatam-e-Nabuwat sections from the Election Act 2017.
While, addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, representatives of Businessman Profession Forum Haji Muhammad Rafique Pardesi, Mohsin Sheikhani, Sardar Rahim, Tariq Polani and others said that government should immediately initiate the dialog process with the leaders of Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistan to end the uncertainty.
They said that TLP leaders and workers are protesting at Faizabad Rawalpindi for the last 12 days for their demands; however the government is not taking to them seriously and instead of dialogs trying to disperse them forcefully. "Being business community we are supporting the demands of the TLP and accordingly urging the government to accept the demands for a peaceful religious environment in the country", they added.
They said that all chambers of commerce and other trade associations are on board and Businessman and Profession Forum will launch a protest campaign, if demands were not accepted or government used the power to disperse these protestors. They also demanded the delisting of names of TLP leaders and workers from the Fourth Schedule.
They said that government signed an agreement with Dr Muhammad Asif Ashraf Jalali, however, still no implementation on this agreement. Representatives of Businessman and Profession Forum Karachi also urged the government for restoration of Public Holiday on November 9 as Iqbal Day.
