rick-santorum WASHINGTON: Rick Santorum was headed for a win in the non-binding Missouri presidential primary Tuesday, US media projected, as he tries to revive his bid for the Republican nomination.

Should Santorum manage to break through in the day's trio of votes in Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado, he could stake his claim as the leading conservative alternative to Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney.

Missouri's vote is being dubbed a "beauty contest" as the state will only award its delegates after a March 17 caucus.
