ISLAMABAD: Secretary, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiak Ahmad Khan on Tuesday said that fifty members of the Senate would retire on March 11, after completion of their term of office.
The members on general seat of federal capital include Tariq Azim Khan (PML) while the member on the seat reserved for technocrats and ulema is Wasim Sajjad (PML) who will retire on March 11, said a news release issued today.
The members on general seats of Punjab province include Mohammad Ishaq Dar (PML-N), Dr. Zaheer-ud-din Babar Awan (PPPP), Sardar Mohammad Jamal Khan Leghari (PML), Syed Javed Ali Shah (PML), Lt. Gen. (R) Javed Ashraf (PML), Mohammad Ali Durrani (PML), Naeem Hussain Chattha (PML).
Gulshan Saeed (PML) and Nilofar Bakhtiar (PML) will retire from the seats reserved for women.
The technocrats including ulema are S. M. Zafar (PML) and Haroon Khan (PML).
The members on general seats from Sindh include Mian Raza Rabbani (PPPP), Ahmed Ali (MQM), Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi (PML), Syed Sajid Hussain Zaidi (PPPP), Dr. Safdar Ali (PPPP), Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi (MQM) and Dr. Khalid Mehmood Soomro (JUI-F).
The women on reserved seats from Sindh are Ms. Ratna (PPPP) and Mrs. Semeen Siddiqui (PML).
However, technocrats including ulema include Abdul Hafeez Shaikh (PPPP) and Dr. Abdul Khaliq Pirzada (MQM).
The members on general seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are Ammar Ahmed Khan (PML), Saleem Saifullah Khan (PML), Moulana Gul Naseeb Khan (MMA), Muhammad Ghufran Khan (PPP), Muhammad Talha Mahmood (MMA), Prof. Khurshid Ahmed (MMA) and Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan (MMA).
The women on reserved seat from KP are Fauzia Fakhar-uz-Zaman (PML) and Afia Zia (MMA).
The technocrats including ulema are Ilyas Ahmed Bilour (ANP), Qazi Muhammad Abdullah (MMA) and from FATA; Hafiz Rashid Ahmad (IND), Abdul Raziq (IND), Abdur Rashid (IND) and Maulana Muhammad Saleh Shah (IND).
The members on general seats from Balochistan province Shahid Hassan Bugti (JWP), Muhammad Ismail (MMA-JUI-F), Mir Israrullah Khan (AWAMI), Mir Mohabat Khan Marri (PML), Abdur Rahim Khan Mandokhail (PKMAP), Dr. Abdul Malik (IND) and Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali (PML).
The women on reserved seats from Balochistan are Mrs. Rehana Yahya Baloch (PML) and Sabina Rauf (MMA).
The technocrats including ulema are Saeed Ahmed Hashmi (PML) and Rahmatullah Kakar, Advocate (MMA).
The Secretary, Election Commission further said, as per schedule announced by ECP, the nomination papers for the Senate Elections 2012 will be filed with the Returning Officers concerned on February 13 and 14 during office hours in their offices.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be carried out by them on February 16 and 17 from 1000 to 1600 hours.
