The Karachi Port handled 152,319 tonnes of cargo comprising 110,043 tonnes of import cargo and 42,276 tonnes of export cargo including 5,193 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 110,043 tonnes comprised of 30,750 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,329 tonnes of general cargo; 50,873 tonnes of coal and 27,091 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,276 tonnes comprised of 42,026 tonnes of containerised cargo and 250 tonnes of general cargo. As many as 5,193 containers comprising of 1,560 containers import and 3,633 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 767 of 20's and 383 of 40's loaded while 09 of 20's and 09 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,186 of 20's and 407 of 40's loaded containers while 371 of 20's and 631 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely Maliakos, Northern Dependant, YM Cypress, TRF Mongstad, Pretty World, Ardmore Defender, Green Phoenix and Da Liang carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. MOL Explorer, Kota Kaya, Havva Ana, Saratov and F F Wish carrying containers, chemical, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were six ships namely Clemens Schulte, Havva Ana, SC Brilliant, Everrich-3, Arietta and Ikan Senyur carrying containers, chemical and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while two ships namely MOL Explorer and Gulf Glow-II carrying containers and chemical respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were three vessels viz. Seaspan Grouse, SCL Akwaba and Le Rong carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday while twelve vessels viz. APL Atlanta, MSC Krittika, Prosper, Hyundai General, Navig-8 Spark, MT Karachi, Kupava, Snow Ploeg, Evolution, Aeolos, Amber Champion and BBC Asia carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, urea, coal and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Saturday.
PORT QASIM: A cargo volume of 166,684 tonnes comprising 130,584 tonnes of import cargo and 36,100 tonnes of export cargo including 4,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 130,584 tonnes includes 16,080 tonnes of diesel oil; 11,900 tonnes of palm oil; 12,988 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 11,337 tonnes of chemical; 23,179 tonnes of coal and 55,100 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 36,100 tonnes includes 36,100 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,800 containers comprising of 2,900 containers import and 1,900 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were three ships namely CV Maipo, MV Argent Iris and MT Bunga Angsana carrying containers, chemical and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV Maipo, CV MSC Alice, CV Maersk Surabaya, MV Shi Zi Shan, MV Draft Slayer, MV Berlin, MT Gas Chem Adriatic, MV Argent Iris, MT UASC Sound and MT Bunga Angsana currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely MT Bneider, MT Al Dasma, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Navig-8 Executive, MT Brizo, MT CH Zephyr and MT Bunga Angsana carrying diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two vessels viz. CV Maersk Innoshima and MT Bunga Angsana carrying containers and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There were ten ships namely CV NYK Furano, CV Jazan, CV Al Khor, CV Maersk Innoshima, MV Aeolor, MV Calimero, MV Qing Hua Shan, MV Shi Zi Shan, MT Umm Bab and MT Adele Marinea Rizzo carrying containers, coal, LNG and oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Friday. There are two ships namely CV CMA CGM Tosca and CV TG Poseidon carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
