Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani has said that Sindh government is fully committed to achieve the targets set in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.
"Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2000-2015 remained unachieved due to inconsistent policies and weak institutional structure," Bijarani said speaking at a seminar on "Identifying Priorities for SDGs 2030 Framework for Sindh," jointly held by his department and the UNDP.
He also talked to the media and said that from procedural planning to resource management, all necessary preparations to achieve the SDGs had already been finalized by Sindh Planning and Development department.
He lauded the role of UNDP for their genuine cooperation and support in various projects. Hence, he said, support unit is being created in collaboration with the UNDP to obtain such targets.
"Eradication of poverty and hunger, provision of basic health facilities, standard education, clean drinking water, energy and environment are the top priorities of Sindh government that have been included in the SDGs 2030," he said.
