As the Census Pakistan is the biggest field operation activity in the country, it would involve mobilisation of about 11800 enumerators and supervisors for specific time period. Each enumerator will work in two blocks, during census operation one uniform soldier will accompany the enumerator on the pattern of 1998 Census.
Physical division of Census areas is 458 Census Districts further divided into 3313 Census Charges, 20657 Census Circles and 168275 Census Blocks. Each block consists of 200 to 250 houses. Every block will have a dedicated team which will be technically trained to do the job.
We have completed our preparatory work to carry out the census operation 2017. We have completed the planning exercise, like preparation of rural and urban areas maps, delimitation of census areas, finalised census questionnaire and training schedule for the Census field staff to carry out Census operation in the country.
The Population and Housing Census is an important national activity, which would provide a comprehensive picture of the social and living conditions of the people. The census provides benchmark data for all socio economic development plans, administrative activities, basis for political representation, equitable distribution of public funds to the federating units and fixation of quota to all civil posts in federal government as per constitutional requirement.
Under law individual information collected during census operation is confidential which will only be used for compilation of data and individual information will not be provided/shared with any institution/agency and we are committed to provide a reliable data to the nation, so only the truth will rise!
