Islamabad's crime surge

The Federal Capital witnessed a rise in different kinds of crimes during the last seven days as the city police registered over 25 different cases of robbery, burglary, theft, purse snatching, carjacking, kidnapping and dishonoured cheques.
According to the data gathered byBusiness Recorder here on Saturday, various police stations of the city registered 14 cases of robbery, burglary and theft, nine cases of motor vehicle theft, and two cases of kidnapping during the last week. The criminal gangs had a field day in the limits of Sabzi Mandi, Lohi Bher, Aabpara, Industrial Area and Kohsar police stations.
Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of auto theft during the last week. Muhammad Usman lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that two armed robbers intercepted him at sector I-11/4 and robbed him of cash at gunpoint.
In another incident, unknown robbers snatched purse from Nusrat Saeed when she was walking home. Her Purse contained cash and her mobile phone. The thieves stole a bike (FSH-6368) of Malik Nadeem from sector I-11/4, located in the limits of same police station.
During the period under review, Lohi Bher police station registered two cases of robbery. Unknown robbers broke into the shop of Muhammad Javed Iqbal at Pakistan Town and stole 30 mobile phones and three laptops.
Another victim Zahid Hussain informed Lohi Bher police station that three armed persons intercepted him when he was on his way in his Suzuki pickup and snatched cash and mobile phone from him.
During the last week, Aabpara police station registered two cases of auto theft. Carjackers stole a car bearing registration number IDE-7865, of Shakeel Suhail Masih parked in front of his house located in sector G-7/1 and lifted a bike (ZR-090) of Masood-ur-Rehman from the Melody Market.
Auto thieves stole two vehicles from the limits of Industrial Area police station during the period. Auto thieves pilfered a car (GTB-849) of Muhammad Javed Iqbal and another car (LEA-1699) of Muhammad Yaqub from the limits of Aabpara police station.
A citizen Muhammad Saad appeared before Kohsar police station stating that gold ornaments, two mobile phones, Saudi riyals, pounds and other foreign currency have been stolen form his house, adding he suspects that his servant Muhammad Yousaf Waqas might be involved in this regard.
In another incident, motor vehicle thieves lifted a bike (VR-179) of Naseem Jan from sector F-6 of the Federal Capital. From an area of Secretariat police station, auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number SM-065 of Abdur Rasheed Jan fall in sector G-5. The robbers also stole power cable of generator installed in the jurisdiction of Secretariat police station owned by Abdur Rehman Afridi. Bani Gala, Bhara Kahu, Shalimar, Ramana, Golra, Women and Tarnol police stations registered one case each of robbery, while Sihala and Karachi Company police stations registered one case each of kidnapping and auto theft.
