Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak will attend the meeting of the Joint Co-ordination Committee of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he announced on Monday. The meeting in Beijing will review CPEC-related projects and sanction new uplift schemes.
The chief minister was addressing a public gathering at Kotar Pan in Nowshera district. He said his government would sign an agreement for 1,200MW hydroelectric power-generation project, and fast railway tracks connecting Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsada, Mardan and Swabi. He said he was hopeful that hydroelectric power-generation projects with the potential of producing 200 megawatts of electricity would be completed by 2018.
