The PPP-led Sindh government is still undecided about the appointment of new IG Sindh to replace A D Khawaja, who was sent on forced leave by Syed Murad Ali Shah-led provincial government. The Sindh government failed to send any name for the appointment of new IG Sindh to the federal government. Responsibilities of IG Sindh Police were handed over to Additional IG Mushtaq Mehar after A D Khawaja was sent on forced leave.
According to sources, Additional IG Karachi Mushtaq Mehar, Chairman Anti-Corruption police establishment Sindh, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and senior officer of police group Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti are in the run for the slot of IG Sindh Police.
