KARACHI: Two more patients died due to spurious drug in Lahore, taking the death toll to 131 on Thursday, according to media reports.
On the other hand, the Lahore Health Department has started Antidote Folinic Acid injections to patients.
On Wednesday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sealed the Karachi-based Afroze pharmaceutical company and recovered 49 kilograms raw material, putting the company owners’ names on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Samples of various medicines including a drug called ‘Isotab’, said to be the cause of the deaths, were impounded and were sent for laboratory tests while the company was sealed till further orders.
