Farmers asked to sow winter vegetables on time

The Met Office has asked the farmers to sow winter vegetables on time for a better yield. It said farmers might sow recommended varieties of seeds in consultation with the agricultural officials before their sowing. Keeping in view the continuing dry weather spell, farmers should plan their fields' irrigation as per need, especially those relying on tube-wells.
"In areas like Potohar Region and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where rainwater storages are available farmers are advised to irrigate crops by using available irrigation methods like sprinkler irrigation etc," it said. Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of Punjab with a light rainfall at scattered places in Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala and Faisalabad Divisions on December 9 and 10.
In Sindh, dry weather is expected with a light rainfall at few places in Hyderabad and Sukkur Divisions on December 9 and to 10. Largely, a dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan but a light rainfall in Northwest of the province on December 9, 10. Dry weather is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a light to moderate rainfall at scattered places in Malakand, Mardan, Hazara, and Peshawar Divisions on December 9 and 10.
Cloudy weather is expected in the most parts of Gilgit-Baltistan with light to moderate rain and snowfall in Gilgit and Skardu areas on December 9 and 10. Weather in Kashmir is likely to remain widely cloudy with a light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in Muzzaffarabad and Rawalakot on December 9 to 10.
