Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ameer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan on Saturday announced the schedule of Jamaat-e-Islami Youth Wing Intra party elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Addressing a news conference here at Al-Markaz Islami, party provincial headquarter, JI provincial ameer Mushtaq said that on January 1, Party's Youth wing Intra party elections will be held in 23 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 15 tehsils of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) at union council level.
He informed that membership drive will be held till December 23 across the province in which new members will be registered. All those Pakistani citizens below age of 35, and agree with the JI manifesto of Jamaat-e-Islami may become member of the JI Youth wing. The membership of new entry could be held directly as well as online through SMS by sending message at 9291, Mushtaq maintained.
Flanked by JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter secretary general Abdul Wasay, JI Youth wing provincial president Abdul Ghaffar, general secretary Haroon Khan, he said nomination papers of candidates will be submitted on December 11, to 13 in the JI district Election Commission. Meanwhile, scrutiny of nomination papers, complaints, allotment of election symbols and the release of the lists of nomination papers will be held, he added.
Mr Mushtaq also informed that at union council level each member will poll three votes for president, general secretary and for cabinet member. He said the election process would be held in two phases across the province in which around fifty thousand youth would be elected through ballot. The elected youth would later be trained how to react and respond to the changes taking place and challenges confronting the country and especially to bring a positive change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.
JI KP chief further said that out of 190 millions population of the country around 130 millions is youth which forms an undefeatable force of the country, adding if Jamaat-e-Islami came to power it will provide free quality education to youth, will ensure they get jobs and will provide un-employment allowance to jobless youth.
"We will provide playgrounds to the youth and will encourage healthy activities and will also hold cultural and social activities across the province". He also claimed that the JI will take steps to eradicate drugs and weapons culture from the society. He also said that JI would soon hold a grand convention of party Youth at national level aimed at paving way for a revolution in the country. He also criticised incumbent rulers for ignoring Youth and encouraging corruption in the government departments. He said that JI believes in merciless accountability of all.
