KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that Insaf Health Cards will be distributed in 1000 union councils of the province, which will be provided to deserving and destitute persons on the basis of merit in transparent manner. Presiding over a high-level meeting here in Chief Minister's House, he said that the cards will be provided on the same procedure as adopted under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) while the role of MPAs and other public representatives will be limited to only monitoring. Besides, Chief Secretary, Secretary Health and other concerned authorities also attended the meeting.
The chief minister termed the initiative as revolutionary step for the provision of treatment facilities to poor families of the province, whose transparency required monitoring. He said that those MPAs which are well aware of the people of their constituencies, therefore, their monitoring is essential, but this process should be completed without any personal likes and dislikes to protect the rights of the deserving people. He asked the MPAs and other elected public representatives to only monitor the programme, saying the check will ultimately remove rich from it to pave way for the inclusion of poor. The PTI led provincial government, the chief minister has the agenda of right, justice and welfare of the poor, therefore, he strongly warned against the repetition of the mistakes committed in such programmes in past.
