In this connection, a four-member delegation of the local elders headed by MPA Gul Sahib Khan called on the chief minister on Tuesday at Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar. Commissioner Kohat Division, Mussarat Hussain and General Manager Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL), Arbab Saqib were also present on the occasion.
General Manager SNGPL assured the chief minister that Sales Meter Station (SMS) have formally been approved for the provision of gas to the said area and laying down of pipelines would be started in the next 10 to 15 days while transportation of gas pipes is being started.
The chief minister said that the provision of natural gas to the said area was very necessary because these areas of the province produce gas for the other areas but unfortunately these were deprived of the gas facility yet.
He said it was the priority of the provincial government to provide gas facility to the areas and in this context he had also contacted Federal Minister for Petroleum. He said that it was the right and long awaited demand of the people of the area and by solving this issue, the deprivation of the people of the area would be ended forever. During the meeting MPA Gul Sahib Khan assured that the SNGPL would be fully supported by the people for the installation of gas pipeline and no hurdle would be created by the people. The provision of land for laying down the pipeline would be facilitated.
