Basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the southern US Midwest were unchanged on Monday as softer grain futures deterred farmer sales, dealers said. Ample domestic and global supplies, along with uneasiness ahead of Wednesday's monthly US Department of Agriculture supply/demand report, weighed on Chicago Board of Trade K.C. HRW futures. In addition, market participants exercised caution in advance of this week's US presidential election. Premiums for wheat shipped to and through Kansas City on Friday were mostly unchanged, but were up 4 cents to 5 cents per bushel for grain with 11.6 to 12.2 percent protein.
