Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday that if somebody in his mind has a perception of disruption should understand that Pakistani nation has rejected all such kinds of unconstitutional moves to remove the government. He was talking to media persons after a discussion on "A world of tomorrow seeking inspiration and equilibrium in a new age" organised by Beaconhouse School System.
Ahsan said that Pakistani nation is united on one point that they don't want any unconstitutional disruption. He also said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should understand that people of Pakistan wants that democratic government should complete its tenure and after that if people think that this government has solved their issues they will again vote for them otherwise they will reject them.
He said that all political parties should start preparations for 2018 general elections and gave their suggestions to the elections reforms committee of the parliament so that free, fair and transparent elections will be held.
While answering the question Ahsan regarding Panama Leaks, he said that we should trust our institutions as the case is in Supreme Court so we should not make our institutions controversial. He stressed his hope that as PTI and other opposition parties has shown their confidence on Supreme Court all the other parties should trust the court. He also stressed his hope that we will solve our issues in a democratic way. Ahsan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has shown his full confidence and trust on the court and announced his full cooperation to the court. He also said that we should set an example of solving our issues through our constitutional institutions.
He said under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) investment of worth billions of dollars is coming to Pakistan especially in energy and construction sector. He claimed that after the completion of energy projects 11000 MW of electricity will be added. Earlier while addressing the audience Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that dreams can be materialised only through commitment and strong determination. He also said stability and continuity were essential for ensuring development in the country adding that the country had a lot of potential. The minister said the government and people had took conscious decision that they want peace. "We want peaceful relations with all neighbouring countries and progress is not possible in war", he added.
The minister said despite of challenges the country had success stories as well and added that the present government had doubled the budget of higher education in three years. To another query, he said strengthening of institutions was significant to overcome corruption adding that vibrant and robust civil society was necessary for ensuring transparency. Reform, development and stability should be synchronised, it was the crux of the discussion.
