PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein Friday said that the elimination of terrorism is their mission adding they will never surrender and will not hesitate from rendering any kind of sacrifice in this regard.
He was addressing a function held here in connection with 5th death anniversary of late CCPO Peshawar Malik Saad Shaheed here under the auspices of Malik Saad Memorial Sports Trust (MSST) in Peshawar Press Club (PPC).
Those who attended were included Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Health, Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Malik Tehmash Khan MPA, Malik Naveed, former IGP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Malik Asad, son Malik Qasim, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Livestock, and Diary Development, Hidayatullah Khan, DIG Qazi Jamil.
The provincial minister called for formulating joint peace strategy and establishment of the environment of confidence amongst Pakistan, Afghanistan and United States. He said that the terrorism could be eradicated only through joint efforts without discrimination of good and bad elements.
Talking about the negotiations of United States with Taliban, he said that they also favour talks, but should not be the achievement of own objectives. He said that for negotiations the three countries included Pakistan, Afghanistan and United States should unveil the names of negotiating teams and agenda and opponents should also constitute formal team and agenda. The holding of separate negotiations will bear no fruit.
Mian Iftikhar also called for review of policies regarding tackling the issue of terrorism, saying if negotiations fail to bring change in situation then full action should be taken against terrorists that should continue till the elimination of terrorists.
He said that they are responsible for the protection of the religious places, schools, hospitals and bazaars to protect them from the terrorism. He pledged that efforts for the breaking of the network of terrorists will continue and will not hesitate from sacrificing their lives.
Others speakers while addressing the ceremony paid rich tribute to services of Shaheed Malik Saad and said that he gave his life to protect society from menace of terrorism. They said that his sacrifices will never go in vain, adding that his ideas and thinking have brought positive development in the society.
They said that Malik Saad had never compromise on his principles, and served people with fully devotion, determination, and commitment. They said he (Malik Saad) had lot of qualities, who gave respect to everyone, and was very committed with his profession.
