LAHORE: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has urged the government to award highest civil award to the late Arfa Karim who had brought laurels to the nation in information technology.
He was talking to the media after condoling Arfa Karim's death with her parents at her residence here Sunday.
PML-Q General Secretary Mushahid Hussain Syed, the PML-Q Sindh General Secretary Haleem Adil Sheikh and Mowahid Hussain Syed also accompanied him.
Shujaat said Arfa Karim was 'the daughter of Pakistan'. Though it's a matter of great concern and profound sorrow that she left us forever, at the same time nation was proud that she had brought laurels to country and enhanced its image in the comity of nations. "I salute to Arfa Karim and her parents," he added.
On the occasion, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that Arfa Karim had now become a role model for progressing Pakistan, as she had given a new identity to Pakistan in the world. He stressed upon the media to continue to highlight such talented people who guaranttee a prosperous and enlightened Pakistan.
