PESHAWAR: The Political Administration in Khyber Agency has completed various development projects, which will help improve the living standards of the communities of Khyber Agency.
The press release issued by the Directorate of Information, FATA Secretariat here on Thursday stated that the Khyber Agency Political Administration has completed drinking water supply systems for the communities of Haji Gul Jamal Kili and Naqib Khan Kili Tehsil Jamrud and Manz Khel Tehsil Landi Kotal, Khyber Agency.
The project will provide approximately 14,000 individuals with potable water at their doorsteps.
Due to shortage of water, the people of the area had been facing great hardship in gaining access to clean drinking water so the elders of these communities approached the Political Administration of Khyber Agency and requested for clean drinking water in their area.
Their request was approved, and construction of tube wells, pump houses, water storage tanks, installation of transformer and 4,960 meters of distribution pipeline network was completed.
The Political Administration of Khyber Agency also completed a project of flood protection wall of 152 meter long for the community of Naqib Khan Kili, Jamrud Tehsil.
The press release added that the project completed at Naqib Khan Kili is also benefiting teachers and students of Government Primary School Manz Khel and hundreds of students of two schools of Naqib Khan Kili. In order to create a sense of ownership in the community, local skilled and unskilled labor were hired and the Political Administration worked closely with the community to ensure quality and timely completion of the project.
The people of the area thanked the Political Administration Khyber for timely fulfillment of their commitment made with the elders of the area. They also expressed their appreciation for involving them in planning and implementation of the project.
