ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold a consultative meeting with political parties on January 23 to contemplate various measures for holding free, fair and credible elections in the country.
According to an official of ECP, the meeting would be held at ECP secretariat where a detailed presentation would be given to the participants of the meeting with a view to sharing vital tasks to be completed before next general elections.
The ECP will seek the views of political parties on some developments taking place so that all the stakeholders are taken on board, he said.
Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmed Khan said steps are being taken to make the electoral process more effective and ensure their transparency and credibility. The Secretary said the ECP has already held four consultative meetings and discussed various steps.
