HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) has rejected the hike in petroleum products, warning of implications for the country's economy.

In a press statement here on Sunday, the HCCI's President Muhammad Ikram Rajput cautioned that the increase would entail inflation and create problems for trade and industry.

It would also adversely affect the manufacturing sector and the country's exports by increasing the cost of production.

On behalf of the business community, he requested the federal government to reduce the prices of the petroleum products.
