SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were up slightly in morning trade Tuesday, as investors awaited the release of key economic data for last year, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, edged up 0.32 percent, or 7.00 points, to 2,213.19.
China's economy grew 9.1 percent year-on-year in the third quarter last year, down from 9.5 percent in the second quarter and 9.7 percent in the first. Data for the fourth quarter and the whole year is expected Tuesday.
