The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) decided on Tuesday to bring back deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar through Interpol over the pending corruption cases against them.

Nawaz's sons, who have been accused by the NAB in corruption reference following the Supreme Court's verdict in Panama Papers case, have been declared absconders by an accountability court. Hussain and Hassan have also been accused in the Avenfield reference case, which is in progress and expected to conclude at the end of this month.

Whereas, the former finance minister has been indicted by an accountability court regarding corruption trial against him. A case has been ongoing regarding Dar for owing assets beyond his known source of income. Dar has been in London since last year, undergoing medical treatment.

NAB will be approaching relevant Interpol authorities by filing an application with documents as to why the trio should be brought back to Pakistan, local media reported.

Meanwhile, Nawaz and daughter Maryam Nawaz are currently in London where Kulsoom Nawaz has been critically ill and put on ventilator. The duo has been granted another three-day exemption from the accountability court. Despite their exemption, court proceedings regarding Avenfield property case is in progress, as Nawaz's lawyer Khawaja Asif is presenting his arguments.
