Government must write letter to Swiss authorities: Aitzaz Ahsan
KARACHI: Lawmaker, barrister and politician of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan on Saturday said that the government should write a letter to the Swiss authorities.
He, however said that his stance on the issue may differ from top party leaders.
Talking to the media in Lahore, he said President Asif Ali Zardari will have immunity in Switzerland under the Vienna Convention.
Aitzaz said further that removal of the Prime Minister constutionally will not endanger democracy.
He denied offers for the post of prime minister or party’s chairmanship, and added, he has submitted his application to contest the upcoming Senate elections.
Commenting on the removal of the Defence Minister, Aitzaz Ahsan said that removing an official falls within the purview of the Prime Minister.
He said he did not meet President Zardari after Naudero.
