ISLAMABAD: Stressing a need for continuity in the democratic process, PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday said there is no space for any adventurism and his party would oppose any unconstitutional step.
Addressing a consultative meeting of his party at Punjab House, he however demanded holding of fresh general elections.
Nawaz Sharif advocated implementation of Charter of Democracy (CoD) signed between him and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, in letter and spirit.
Briefing the newspersons after the meeting, PML-N Leader Ahsan Iqbal said that Nawaz Sharif has started contacting all political leaders, both in the government and the opposition in view of the present political situation.
He said that resignations from parliament was not an option as his party having only 92 members in the National Assembly could not bring any 'qualitative change.'
He admitted that the PPP-led government could easily run business of the House even if the members of PML-N resign from National Assembly.
