PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly met for just 15 minutes on last day of its constitutional term which is going to end on Monday and witnessed thin number of legislators in the house.
After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the proceeding started late for about 45 minutes with member of the Panel of Chairman Mehmood Jan in the chair who had rung the bell for three times but no member came to the house after PPP MPA Ziaullah Afridi pointed out the lack of quorum.
As a result, Mehmood Jan read out the order of Governor KP, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra about the completion of constitutional term of KP Assembly and declared the house prorogued.
In the closing remarks, the Chairman expressed his well wishes for the well-being of the country and nation.
During the course of time, the legislators, visitors and press gallery were seen exchanging views on historic passage of FATA-KP merger bill which is awaiting the presidential consent.
