PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) General Secretary and former Information Minister KP, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said PTI had setup Khyber Pakhtunkwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) in order to protect its corrupt elements from NAB.

He regretted KPEC was not allowed to work independently since its creation due to repeated amendments in its laws by the present regime and now was a burden on the provincial kitty.

Addressing Provincial Council of Pakhtunkhwa Students Federation here, Iftikhar Hussain said PTI has betrayed people of KP on the name of change and has completely failed to fulfill promise of change during last five years rule in the province.

“Those political elements, who had raised tall slogans of bringing change in 90 days in the country, had in fact failed to bring any change during last five years in KP,” he remarked.

Central Vice President ANP, Baz Muhamamd Khan, Provincial Senior Vice President, Syed Aqil Shah, Joint Secretary Nisar Khan and other senior leaders were present on the occasion. The ANP leader lamented that KP budget was lapsed in first four years of the present regime while in fifth year, the rulers are unable to present it after losing majority in the KP Assembly.

Iftikhar claimed KP province had owed around Rs37billion loan in 65 years while PTI Government had increased loan burden by about Rs356b during last five years, and despite such heavy loans, could not provide any relief to masses.

He said ANP Govt had brought revolution in all sectors including education, health and other social services besides established network of dozens of reputed universities including Abdul Wali Khan University, Bacha Khan Unviersity, Islamia College University, Khushal Khan University, Mian Rashid Hussain Campus at Pabbi.

The ANP Govt had established Government’s writ in Malakand Division that was challenged by terrorists and resettled over three million TDPs in record two months time, he maintained. The financial resources of provinces were increased in the wake of 18th constitutional amendments and identity was given to Pakthoons in the shape of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Mian Iftikhar said Imran Khan’s health and education emergency programs of PTI was evaporated in the air, adding the recent visits of Chief Justice of Pakistan to different hospitals in Peshawar had exposed the poor facilities and deplorable state of hospitals in Peshawar.

He said about eight lakh students are still out of schools in KP that had stand exposed PTI’s education emergency’s program.

The ANP leader said PTI leadership had earlier dubbed Punjab Govt’s metro bus project as Jangla bus and now is constructing the same in Peshawar by taking high expensive loans.

Terming Peshawar metro is one of the most expensive project of the country, he said ill-planning on part of policy makers can be judged from the fact that about 30 times, Peshawar metro designs was changed and taxpayers money was wasted.

The ANP leader said CM KP was dreaming inauguration of the Swat Motorway project despite not a single bridge has been constructed on it up till now.

Iftikhar said ANP wanted Fata merger in KP ahead of 2018 general elections. The construction of road form Bajaur to Zohb would help provide better facilities to Pakthoons besides expedite pace of economic development in tribal areas.

The ANP after coming into power would recruit subject specialists for teaching of Pashto at every college of the province, he maintained.

He said ANP great leader Bacha Khan had laid great stressed on education and urged students and members of the Pakhtuns students’ federation to make special focus on education, science and technology as it was the only way forward to achieve glory in life.
