Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that he has called a meeting of his party's central executive committee to discuss allegations leveled against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chief Javed Iqbal.

Speaking to the media outside an accountability court, Sharif said that Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz will be discussing the issue that surfaced against him, in which he has been accused of allegedly laundering $ 4.9 billion to India. He said that matter was too grave not to discuss, local media reported.

The deposed prime minister added that those who were behind this should find a way out. He added that those who denied him his party's presidency by disqualifying him for life from the Parliament should ponder what they are doing to Pakistan.

Sharif was referring to the NAB chief, who has taken notice of a report that was published by the World Bank two years ago. The report carried information that Sharif, along with some others, allegedly laundered $4.9 billion to India. The NAB chief had then ordered a probe into the matter.

After NAB initiated the investigation, the World Bank has claimed that the report does not include any mention of money laundering nor does it name any individuals.

Following the announcement of NAB's probe, Sharif had demanded that NAB chief should provide proof against him or resign.
