ISTANBUL: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and economy officials will discuss current account deficit, interest rates and inflation comprehensively in an unscheduled meeting on Wednesday, Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said.
Speaking in Ankara to reporters, Kalin said the depreciation in lira stemmed from the global trends and the issue has been on the government's agenda for a couple of weeks.
The Turkish lira rebounded from a record low earlier on Wednesday after officials said Erdogan would discuss the currency with his economy team, in a surprise meeting.
