ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz's counsel Amjad Pervaiz Monday concluded his cross examining with NAB's last prosecution witness Imran Dogar in Avenfield property reference before the Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad.

The court adjourned hearing of the case till tomorrow, wherein NAB prosecutor would give statement before the court regarding conclusion of prosecution arguments and evidences in Avenfield property reference.

Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir conducted hearing on Avenfield property reference against Sharif family members. Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif appeared before the court along with their legal team.

As the hearing began, Defense counsel Amjad Pervaiz started cross-examination of Dogar, who is the last prosecution witness. Imran Dogar informed the court about NAB's procedure of inquiries and investigations, as well as lodging of references.

He informed the court that the interim investigation report of the Avenfield case was prepared on September 6 last year. He said the statement of Additional Director NAB Rana Muhammad Ali was not recorded under 161 section of NAB Ordinance.

In response to a question, Dogar said he has seen the CV of Stefin Smith, according to which he was the resident of London.

He said the opinion of Smith was included in JIT report, however, saying that he did not involve him in his investigation process. He said that he had no role in the work of the Panama Papers case Joint Investigation Team.

The court adjourned hearing of the reference till tomorrow after Amjad Pervez concluded his cross-examination. Later, the court also allowed former prime minister to leave the proceeding after attendance.

Meanwhile, NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar said he will give a statement in court tomorrow on the conclusion of arguments and presentation of evidence.

The court, responding to Pervez's query, directed that the accused do not need to appear in court at the next hearing.
