 KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB- Karachi) has completed investigations related to several of the cases related to land scams / frauds and is awaiting approval of the competent authority pre-requisite to file references.

A meeting chaired by Director General, NAB - Karachi, Mohammad Altaf Bawany here on Monday to review progress of the under process inquiries expressed its satisfaction that many of these matured and needed to be taken to logical conclusion.

One of the such cases was identified to be regarding illegal allotment of land measuring 5222 acres located at district Thatta, for cattle farming, to accused Nasser Abdullah Lootah involving a sum of Rs.15 million.

The investigation report was said to be soon submitted to competent authority along with recommendations of the investigating team.

 

It was mentioned that the allotment to Nasser Abdullah Lootah entailed serious illegalities in process of allotment causing heavy loss to the national exchequer.

Another complaint against Lootah related to alleged allotment of 02 Acres land in exchange of 15 Acres land in Gulshan e Iqbal through illegal means and non payment of occupancy value, at Dehr Okewari, Gulshan e Iqbal Karachi was also discussed on the occasion.

NAB Karachi's review board were informed that allegations regarding non payment of occupancy value and exchange were not proved against Nasser Abdullah Lootah as the said land of 02 acres was a fresh allotment by Sindh Land Utilisation Department and was made against the amount of Rs. 3.87 million in lieu of occupancy value.

Another inquiry regarding 05 acres allotted to Wasif Qavi was said to be under process, in which findings were being compiled.

NAB - Karachi chief directed the investigation teams to conclude the cases as per law in line with the directives of NAB Chairman, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
