ISLAMABAD: The government has earmarked Rs 27.59 billion for various new and ongoing schemes of the Planning, Development and Reforms Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19.

According to the budgetary document released here on Friday, the government has proposed allocation of Rs 4.744 billion for 23 ongoing schemes and another Rs 6.084 billion for 12 new schemes.

Similarly, an amount of 16.76 billion has been set aside under the head of other requirements, including feasibility studies of projects financing under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, for which Rs 5 billion has been allocated. While for research and holding of workshops, technical and feasibility studies, Rs 500 million are allocated while for un-funded public welfare and under-funded important projects Rs 11.25 billion has been set aside.

Among ongoing schemes, National Endowment Scholarships for Talent (NEST) will get Rs 2 billion, while Center for Rural Economy, Center for Excellence for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), CPEC Support Project (Revised), and Development Communication Project will receive Rs 500 million, 400 million, 200 million, and 200 million respectively.

Among new schemes, the government has allocated Rs 3.5 billion for land acquisition and site development of Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad, and Rs 500 million for its construction.

Similarly, CPEC Institute Gwadar will receive Rs 300 million, Capacity Building of Officers of Economist Group Rs 150 million, Startup Pakistan Venture Rs 1000 million, and Pakistan Productivity, Quality Innovative Initiatives Rs 120 million.?
