Newly appointed Finance Minister Miftah Ismail to present budget

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's finance adviser Miftah Ismail has been appointed as the federal minister for finance, revenue and economic on Thursday.

During a ceremony at the Presidency, President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Ismail. Cabinet members, political workers and high officials attended the ceremony.

After this appointment, Ismail will be presenting the budget for 2018-2019 at the National Assembly today.

Last year, former finance minister Ishaq Dar resigned from his position owing to his health. Dar is currently in London undergoing medical treatment. Dar is also accused in a corruption case filed by the National Accountability Bureau, who he has been absconding for the past few months.
