WARSAW: Poland's central bank booked a net loss of 2.5 billion zlotys ($727.17 million) in 2017 and therefore will not contribute to this year's state budget, the bank's management board member said on Tuesday.
"The central bank financial result for 2017 was negative, it was 2.5 billion zlotys," Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska was quoted as saying in an interview published on bank's website.
Under Polish law, most of the central bank's profit is transferred to the state budget. There is no contribution if the bank books a loss.
