Court adjourns Al-Azizia reference hearing till tomorrow

An accountability court adjourned on Monday the Al-Azizia reference against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif till tomorrow, while it will resume the Avenfield case hearing later in the afternoon today.
As the hearing commenced, Judge Muhammad Bashir adjourned the Avenfield hearing till afternoon owing to the absence of key witness Wajid Zia, who headed the Joint Investigation Team that probed the Sharif family's offshore properties, local media reported.
The judge also allowed Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to leave the court. Speaking to the media outside the court, Sharif targeted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and wondered that will people who practice unethical politics bring change in Pakistan?
Sharif, Maryam and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar reached the accountability court early in the morning. The father-daughter duo reached Islamabad from London in the wee hours of Monday and were met by the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz workers.
On Friday, the duo had asked the court to be granted a week's exemption as they were in London to see ailing Kulsoom Nawaz. However, the judge dismissed their application and only allowed them exemption from Friday's court proceedings.
