KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Mushatq Ahmed Shah has directed the police officials to prepare foolproof security plans for processions, to be taken out on the eve of chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
Provincial police chief presiding over a meeting of police officials here on Tuesday, directed them to hold meetings with ulema of different schools of thought in view of chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain in their respective areas in the continuity of Muharram Security plan.
He directed the Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGs) to form district level peace committees comprising ulema and members of civil society to maintain peace.
He also directed the officials to keep watch on anti-social elements and troublemakers by strengthening the role of local people at police stations level.
The IGP also directed the officials to maintain close coordination with other law enforcement agencies and ensure full sweeping of processions' routes by the bomb disposal squads.
The meeting was attended among others by the Additional Inspector General Police Akhter Gorchani and DIGs of all zones of the city.
