ROTTERDAM: The European vegetable oil market ended the first trading day of 2012 quietly firmer in thin trade, market sources said.
Asking prices were indicative only, without being tested, with liquid oils 12 to 18 euros per tonne up from Friday following Friday's firmer trend in Chicago soyoil, while Lauric oils were $25 to $30 up on continued fears of smaller output due to recent adverse weather in the Philippines.
Palm oil was hardly offered and no business was seen overall.
