HYDERABAD: The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal's (MMA) leader and Ameer of Jamat-i-Islami (JI), Senator Sirajul Haq Sunday expressed concern that if the upcoming general elections are conducted like the Senate polls, the results would be dissatisfying.

Talking to the media persons here at Hyderabad press club, he said the rich people would be noticed campaigning in the land cruisers and planes in the 2018 elections.

"The people who got themselves elected in the Senate by spending millions of rupees will not serve interests of the people but their own interests," he observed.

Haq said the leaders of many political parties complained that their legislators sold their votes in the senate elections.

The MMA's leader told that the religious alliance would be made functional before the 2018 elections at the provincial and district levels. Sirajul Haq asked the federal government to raise voice against the Indian atrocities in the occupied Kashmir.

The JI's Naib Ameer Asadullah Bhutto, JI's Ameer Sindh Dr Mairajul Haq Siddiqi and Hyderabad Ameer Hafiz Tahir Majeed were present on the occasion.
