PESHAWAR: The security forces Wednesday attacked militant hideouts in areas near Afghan border in Aurakzai and Kurram tribal regions killing 12 millitants, local official sources said.
The forces pounded militants' positions in Mamozai, Khadizai and Chapar kali areas of Aurakzai agency, killing seven extremists besides destroying four militant safe-houses.
Moreover, the security forces recovered over 40 rockets and a large number of landmines in a major search operation in Arhang, Zakhtun and Gandi Tal areas.
Meanwhile, five other suspected militants were killed in clashes with armed forces in Kurram Agency. Some unknown miscreants Wednesday dynamited three schools in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The taliban militants destroyed government girl's primary school with five kilogram explosives in Somnat area of Shabqadar in Charsadda district late Tuesday night.
The building of the school was completely destroyed in the blast. However no loss to life was reported. The police started search operation after the blast and arrested three suspected persons belonging to Aurakzai Agency.
Similarly, militants dynamited two schools in Chalas area of Diamir. According to DSP Diamir Sultan Faisal, the community school and government girls primary school were destroyed with explosive materials.
